Sports Referee
The YMCA has openings for enthusiastic individuals to officiate our boys and girls ages 5 to 12 in Basketball and Volleyball.
Requirements:
16 years of age or older
Must be consistently available to work evenings and Saturdays
Knowledge of rules for Basketball and Volleyball
Referee certifications are preferred but not required
Prior participation as an athlete/coach in a recreational, high school or collegiate program in sports
Previous refereeing experience with players at the Elementary/Middle/High School level preferred
Responsibilities:
Build relationships with participants, parents, coaches and officials
Physically move, run, sprint and jog on a playing field or court for an extended period of time
Physically demonstrate referee signals to participants
Follow the Y sports referee guidelines
Distribute and collect sports equipment needed for program
