Episcopal Church of the Advent is looking for a part-time Sexton to join our team.
Responsibilities Perform general cleaning/sanitizing of the facility (including upper office wing, upper classroom wing, lower fellowship wing including the kitchen, lower preschool wing, and worship spaces) Preparing spaces for meetings (i.
e.
table/chair set-up and more) Scheduling the heat and air systems for the entirety of the church based on scheduled events, meetings, and daily office hours Check church schedule daily for added events that require set-up, additional cleaning, etc.
Monitoring oil supplies for the heating system during colder months Monitoring and ordering of supplies needed for the church Contacting and monitoring contractors as needed Minor painting and minor repair maintanance as needed Desired Experience and Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in janitorial or custodial department preferred Ability to work well with others Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling up to 25 pounds.
Advent operates a preschool program as well as additional children/youth programming.
Under PA law, the Sexton will be required to have State Police and FBI background checks, and be required to complete two online SafeChurch training programs totaling 5 hours.
